[06 Dec 2004|09:36pm]

I bought a trip to Anaheim as a first anniversary surprise for my husband. Unfortunately, he has to work the days I booked the hotel (damn retail!), and we can't use it. The trip was booked through Priceline.com, which has a no returns/exchanges/refunds policy, so I need to get my money back somehow. Take over my hotel room, PLEASE.

  • Dates: Check-in December 28, check-out January 2
  • Price: $262.29 that's $45 per night!
  • Hotel: Candlewood Suites Anaheim South, 12901 Garden Grove Blvd., Garden Grove, California 92843, 714-539-4200 here's the yahoo travel site for the hotel

If you are interested in this offer, PLEASE e-mail me. I need to recoup these funds. I will accept personal check (allow 10 days for the funds to clear), money order, or paypal. Upon receipt of payment, I'll send you the confirmation number, and call the hotel to let them know the name of the person checking in (since my name is on the reservation).

x-posted so much it isn't funny anymore

MOD post [11 Oct 2004|11:37am]

I just got off the phone with castmember, Elizabeth. It took me three tries, but I was finally successful. Curry and I now have our reservation to take the "A Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour, which allows you to see Disneyland the way Walt did. It only cost a measly $78. So, that is the way Curry and I decided to celebrate our one year anniversary. The tour will be taking place on November 6th, at 9 a.m. Its a three and a half hour walking tour, where we see the lobby of club 33, get a special Jungle Cruise ride, and lunch. I feel like Im forgetting something else, so maybe comment curry if you know.

Walk of magical memories... [08 Oct 2004|10:55am]

Well, I just got off the phone a little while ago with cast member Brent. I have purchased a commemorative brick that will appear in the plaza area between Disneyland and Disney's California adventure. The brick will feature a 50th Anniversary medallion (with Tinker Bell sprinkling pixie dust over Sleeping Beauty Castle) and the names of the two magical moderators of this community. I don't know when the brick will be in place, but I'll be receiving all of the materials on the brick in a fortnight. Now I'll have something else to look forward to seeing when visiting the magic kingdom!

I thought it might be nice to post some Disneyland photos in here. So behind the cut you'll find a few of Curry and I from way back in May, when we made the journey out to the happiest place on earth to meet up with our good friend and fellow disneyland afficionado, Owen.

Once more into the breach... [06 Oct 2004|11:10am]

Hey all.

I'm going to be spending a couple of days at the Disneyland resort this weekend. I've been hearing alot of intriguing things recently, and I need to check them out for myself. So I'll have an update on the park and some pictures for you at the start of next week. In the mean time, feel free to fill out the survey if you haven't done so already. Also, start talking. Ask questions give answers, whatever. And thanks to those of you that have joined so far, we've actually been growing quicker than I had thought we would. Talk to you soon!

Park n Ride... [27 Sep 2004|11:50pm]

Oh, sweet sassy molassy…the entire audio of “Muppetvision 3D” is playing right now as I write this. I just started playing Subsonic, and there it was. What a lucky break. Yes, the life of an Annual Passholder is a sweet one. Having that small piece of laminated plastic enables one to accomplish feats that they could only dream of before. And, in the end, isn’t that the purpose of Disneyland Passport: to make your dreams come true?

Welcome! [18 Sep 2004|10:42pm]

Hi there. This is Magicjuan, one of the moderators at this brand spankin' new community. This comm was created by my lovely girlfriend Melissa and myself. We may be a happy couple, but Disneyland is my mistress and her secret lover. Actually, she and I are quite content with our little love triangle, as we have decided that the park is big enough for us to share...but I get the Tiki Room.

While there are already a couple of Disneyland themed communities on Livejournal, Melissa and I still believed that we were justified in adding another one into the mix. You see, we both have an endearing love with Disneyland, and find that enchanted place occupying our every waking thoughts. We needed to create this community so that we would have a cistern in which to channel our intense adoration of the park so that it will not surface at inopportune moment and interfere with our daily lives out in the real world.

Of course, it would be impossible as well as inadvisable to completely purge one's mind of Disneyland, and that is not what we are trying to do. Our goal is to merely create a center to focus our Disney-related energies, and maybe put it all to good use as well.

What we are hoping to do with this community is to establish a sort of Town Square or City Hall on the internet for all lovers of Disneyland; the young, and the young at heart. Melissa and I will be posting our stories, pictures, and reflections of Disneyland, and we hope that you will too. Took a trip to the Magic Kingdom last weekend? We want to hear about it. Notice something new, or see something you love missing or closed down? Enlighten us. Visit the park with the family years ago but haven't been back since? Go ahead and ramble off your fondest memories. And you don't need to restrain yourself either. We want to hear about any Disney theme park experience you've had, although our emphasis will be on the Anaheim park.

With the 50th Anniversary of the park less than a year away at this writing, I think that this is a prime time to swap stories and memories, and celebrate the place that has brought so much joy to so many people for half a century. As our member list grows, we plan to have theme weeks, contests, and maybe even special events to take place off of cyberspace in the real world. So come along, find your laughing place and tell us your tale.
